Review by analysts for analysts

The term and procedures of “review” have long existed in design, and even longer in other IT professions. I'll tell you a story about how we:

  • began to review analysis artifacts “under duress”, and what the failures this approach encountered;
  • applied a project approach to reviews with a clear scheduling, an approved plan and key milestones;
  • changed the approach over time and “fixed” the review process.
We will discuss:
  • the value of reviews for both the analysts being reviewed and the reviewers, as well as their managers;
  • the intermediate result achieved by the company;
  • what metrics are essential to work with, and what can be turned a blind eye to.
