Why Are There So Many Symbols in BPMN (That No One Understands) and What to Do About It

Every analyst has tried using BPMN at least once, seen diagrams from colleagues, and almost always had to put in extra effort to understand what was drawn. Why does this happen if BPMN is an international standard? How can we save time for people involved in working with BPMN?

In this talk, we will explore why the standard itself is not suitable as a practical guide. We’ll discuss established practices in BPMN usage and present a public open-source modelling agreement, PMA, which addresses this issue in the simplest and most intuitive way.
