Why It’s Still Important to Keep the Focus on Process Description in Software Development

I work as the head of the process analytics department at GNIVC and develop products for the Federal Tax Service of Russia.
It caught my attention that in our software development workflow, the description of the process has been losing its significance. More and more often I hear things like: “We work in Agile, why do we need a process model?”, “Descriptions of system functions are enough to meet Customer requirements” and so on.
In my talk, I’ll share how our focus gradually shifted from process-driven software development to development based solely on requirements and user stories. I invite conference participants to reflect on the role of processes in modern software development—and whether we might be losing something important along the way.
