It’s common to see the phrase “knowledge of relational data models” in courses, job interviews, and analyst job descriptions (both for systems analysts and others).

Stop. Back in autumn 2023, we already mentioned the fact that there are other data models — not just relational ones — and that it’s worth sticking to the conceptual level and relying on the expertise of technical specialists.

In this talk, we’ll return to the topic of NoSQL. This time, we’ll look at working with data not only at the database level, but also at the business, application, and other levels.
We’ll also answer several questions that came up after the previous talk:
— Who is responsible for choosing the DBMS and data model?
— What to do if there’s no architect on the team?
— And what does chicken have to do with any of this?
