API First: Religion or Reality

Today, the terms API First and Contract First are increasingly common in the IT world. These approaches spark numerous discussions — and even heated debates — with both strong advocates and sceptics.

The aim of my talk is to clarify:

• what these approaches actually mean;

• why they are rapidly gaining popularity;

• how to view an API as a product;

• which best practices we have developed within our company and how they benefit the business.
